Malachy Brennan
Born in 1947 into a farming family, Malachy became a devoted lover of nature and the abundance of beauty which accompanies it.
While growing up, Malachy spent a fair amount of time fishing and discovered that the water, wildlife and surrounding land held more intrigue for him than he first imagined.
It was after studying several of John Constable's masterpieces that he was inspired to attempt his own brand of natural classics.
Although Malachy paints at all times and in all weathers, he does favour dawn and dusk, when the image is hazy or blurred. This enhances the softness of the painting, perhaps adding a little missted, dreamy image, as well as being the asthetically wonderful parts of the day.
Malachy has scored major successes in exhibitions in Magheralin, Downpatrick and on a larger scale in Newry. He is continuing his work on landscapes using nostalgia and nature as his themes which show his wonderful technique and workmanship.
