Chris Dearden
Chris Dearden ARUA, UWS, NDD, WCSI
Chris was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, but has been living in Northern Ireland since 1973. Educated in Huddersfield College of Art, he was a texile designer in Bradford and Belfast for 18 years before coming a full-time artist and teacher of "Landscape in Matercolour" since 1983.
Chris has had scores of solo and group exhibitions beginning with his first at Queen's University, Belfast in 1981. Since then, his works have been exhibited throughout the British Isles and eastern USA.
His awards include the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts "Best Painting" in 1986 and the R.U.A. "Best Watercolour" in 1996 and 2004.
Among his collectors include the Prince of Wales (2), former Irish PM, Albert Reynolds, the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland, and the National Trust besides many others.
